This Privacy Policy explains what information PitchPicks collects, how we use it, and your rights.
1. Information we collect
- Account info: name, email, hashed password.
- Subscription & payment metadata: plan, transaction reference, status, currency. Card details are handled by Flutterwave — we never see or store them.
- Usage data: pages visited, tips saved, comments posted.
- Technical data: IP address, browser, device type — used for security and rate limiting.
2. How we use it
- To operate your account and deliver subscribed content.
- To process payments via our payment provider.
- To prevent abuse (rate limiting, fraud detection).
- To send important account or subscription notifications.
- We do not sell your personal data.
3. Cookies
We use a session cookie to keep you logged in. We also use localStorage to remember that you've confirmed you're 18+. We don't use third-party tracking cookies for advertising on this site.
4. Third parties
- Flutterwave — payment processing. Their privacy policy applies to data they collect during checkout.
- API-Football — fixture and result data is fetched from this provider; no user data is sent to them.
5. Data retention
We keep account data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g. payment records for accounting).
6. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction or deletion.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Receive a copy of your data in portable format.

7. Security
We use industry-standard practices: HTTPS in production, hashed passwords, prepared database queries, CSRF protection on forms, and minimal data collection. No system is 100% secure, so please use a strong unique password.
8. Children
